The environmental health officer visited the flat for all the good it really did.... he Poked the ceiling with a probe that beeped loads when placed over the crack in the ceiling. I told him about or concerns with the windows and the rest of the cracks and he didn’t appear interested... He explained to us that he would put a work order out to all the owners in the block stating that the work needs carried out on the communal space and this order gives people 6 weeks to respond after this the work order is left permanently open and nothing would be done. In other words there was nothing going to get done as we are the only flat in the block affected by it.
I asked the officer to speak to my dad and he explained it over the phone for him then my dad tried to call the agency to speak to the manager as still nothing had been done about making us water tight or the windows or smoke detectors.. He was promised a call back 3 times and didn’t receive any call backs at all. It just kept getting worse and worse.
So that was the start to our weekend with a leaky roof and worry that it would get worse.
Later that night there was allot of wind and we noticed on the dangerous window the blind was blowing the blind more than usual so we looked at it. The top sash had fallen down and wouldn’t go back up properly at the end we had to go and buy masking tape and tape the whole window up.... It was a nightmare...
That night there was a football game on so there where police all over the place and people shouting at each other the usual Glasgow sectarian rubbish ... I won’t quote the things we heard as its offensive lol ... Let me just say it’s a very Rangers area and there was a Celtic match so I will let you use your imagination...
